The Richmond Plunge

  Seismic Strengthening and Renovation
  Richmond, California

This 1926 two story building is the home of the historic Richmond Municipal Natatorium. Most of the interior and exterior walls of the building were constructed from hollow clay tile masonry. The roof over the pool itself is framed with gabled steel trusses supported on steel columns. A schematic level structural design was prepared to repair and strengthen the structure, which was closed due to concerns for public safety.
$10.4M construction cost.
